• Family: Fabaceae (Pea Family)
• Geographic Range: Mountains of Trans-Pecos Texas east to Crocket and Val Verde counties; northern Mexico.
• Plant Form: Shrub to small tree.
• Remarks: A more xeric and generally smaller and more shrubby edition of the Eastern Redbud. Reddish-purple flowers in early spring, mostly before leaves appear.
