• Scientific Name: Condalia viridis I.M. Johnst. (con-DALE-lee-uh VEER-ih-dis).
• Family: Rhamnaceae (Buckthorn Family)
• Geographic Range: South-central Texas from Brewster to Bexar Co., south into Coahuila, Nuevo León, and San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
• Plant Form: Shrub to 3 to 10' tall.
• Remarks: Thorny, rigidly erect shrub with a yellow-green cast to new stems and foliage, usually found in desertic scrub on dry limestone slopes.
