- Geographic Range: Southern AZ, southeastern NM, Trans-Pecos to South TX; Baja California to Chihuahua, south to Oaxaca, Mexico.
- Plant Form: Semi-evergreen shrub to 15' H X 10' W
- Remarks: Large, densely branching plant with strong, flexuous stems and stout 1” spines; small, elliptic, 3-nerved leaves, and ¼" round orange fruit. Full sun,
low water, good drainage, hardy to 10° F. Heavily armament and juicy berries make this a favored wildlife plant and good barrier hedge.
