- Geographic Range: Common in arroyos in southern NM, western Texas, south through Coahuila and Chihuahua to San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
- Plant Form: Deciduous shrub, 4' H X 5' W.
- Remarks: Multiple ascending, densely leafy stems form dense rounded mounds. Small leaves are irregularly toothed, often sticky and crowd stems with pale gray, fibrous bark.
Small, straw colored, disk flower heads form pyramidal terminal clusters in fall. Dense foliage and tight mounding habit can be handsome in sunny arroyos, but plant is often weedy in the
landscape. Low to medium water, full sun, well draining soil, hardy.
