• Scientific Name: Amsonia palmeri (am-SO-nee-uh PAL-mer-aye)
• Family: Apocynaceae (Dogbane Family)
• Geographic Range: Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona; northern Mexico.
• Plant form: Herbaceous perennial to 1½' H.
• Remarks: Multiple slender stems with pale lead-blue to white flowers in spring followed by pairs of long tubular seed pods. Dies to ground in winter, low to moderate water, full to light shade.
