Mexico.

- Remarks: Produces prominent deep purple spikes of small one-petaled flowers highlighted by yellow or orange anthers in late spring; multiple sparsely branched stems form an
open, graceful form. Attracts butterflies. Adaptable, winter hardy, moderate water, full sun to partial shade.
