- Geographic Range: From central Arizona and southwestern New Mexico south along the Sierra Madre Occidental in Chihuahua and Durango, Mexico.
- Plant Form: Perennial, 3' x 3' , with blooming stalk to 15'.
- Remarks: Forms basal rosette with 2-ft long, semi-succulent, gray-green, thick-toothed, terminally spined leaves in a tight whorl; upon maturity (10 to 20+ years) , produces
greenish-yellow flowers on 6-15' stalk, then dies; suckers freely (pups); good landscape accent, low water, full sun, very hardy.
