Geographic Range: Deep sandy soils in central and southern New Mexico, El Paso
Co. Texas, and the Samalayuca dune field south of Juárez in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Description: Coarse annual herbaceous plant forming rounded clumps on deep
sandy soil and displaying rounded umbels of pink to magenta flowers followed by clusters of
prominently winged seeds.
