- Scientific Name: Tecoma stans (teh-COH-muh STANS
- Family: Bignoniaceae (Catalpa Family)
- Geographic Range: Southeastern Arizona to Texas and south to Argentina.
- Description: Shrub to about 10' by 6' (tree farther south).
- Remarks: Bright yellow trumpet-shaped flowers. Tends to die to ground in unprotected areas in the northern desert, but returns with warm weather. Often used as an
ornamental.
