• Scientific Name: Muhlenbergia porteri (meeu-len-BER-ji-uh PORT-tur-eye)
• Family: Poaceae (Grass Family)
• Geographic Range: Southwestern U.S., northern Mexico.
• Description: Grass, up to 3 ft high.
• Landscape Usage: Blooms late summer through fall; drought and soil tolerant; prefers good drainage; blue-green foliage; dark purple spikes.
