- Geographic Range: Rocky hillside and silty flats, southern margin of the
Chihuahuan Desert in Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, and central highlands in Mexico.
- Description: Ascending to decumbent herbaceous perennial, stems slender and
few branched, foliage generally glabrous to sparsely viscid-pubescent, glaucous gray-green, often
tinged reddish to purplish above, pale discolor below. Flowers pink to reddish violet, usually 1
per involucre, borne on pubescent clusters.
