• Scientific Name: Mimosa aculeaticarpa var. biuncifera (mee-MOW-suh uh-coo-lee-uh-CAR-puh var. buy-oon-CEF-er-uh)
• Family: Fabaceae (Pea Family)
• Geographic Range: Deserts of southern Arizona to Trans-Pecos Texas and scattered areas farther east in Texas; south into northern Mexico.
• Plant Form: Dense shrub or small tree to 8 ft.
• Remarks: Ball-like whitish or pinkish flowers, late spring to mid-summer.
