• Common Spanish Names: Tascate, Cedro, Cedro Colorado, Sabino, Tlaxcal
• Scientific Name: Juniperus flaccida (joo-NIP-err-us FLA-cih-duh)
• Family: Cupressaceae (Cypress Family)
• Geographic Range: Big Bend National Park in the USA; Chihuahua and northeastern Sonora south to Oaxaca in Mexico; Guatemala
• Plant Form: Tree averaging about 35' at maturity.
• Remarks: The common juniper in much of Mexico.
