- Geographic Range: Widespread from Kansas to Texas and west across the southwestern U.S. and northern Mexico.
- Plant Form: Perennial, 15" H.
- Remarks: Low, weedy, herbaceous plant that spreads by underground rhizomes. Small bipinnate leaves and ½" yellow flowers from spring to fall in an erect terminal
spike. Plant can form ½" tubers on rootstock which makes it difficult to eradicate. Officially designated as a “Noxious Weed” in 35 states.
