• Scientific Name: Eysenhardtia texana (eye-sen-HART-ee-uh tex-ANN-uh)
• Family: Fabaceae (Pea Family)
• Geographic Range: Northeastern Mexico north into southern Texas, including Brewster County.
• Plant Form: Perennial, irregularly shaped, deciduous shrub up to 10' H.
• Remarks: White, fragrant flowers, April to November; leaves with a distinctive odor when crushed. Full sun, good drainage. Cold hardy to about 15° F.
