- Geographic Range: Southwestern New Mexico, southern Arizona, south into west-central Mexico.
- Plant Form: Perennial sub-shrub, 2' H x 3' W.
- Remarks: Herbaceous, densely branching erect to spreading, stems with lush 2'-long, green, lanceolate leaves. Small but vivid, ¼ inch, rose-purple flowers with
clasping bractlets, May to October. Mass for effective groundcover. Moderate to low water, shade to full sun, well draining soils. Minimally cold tolerant, dies to ground with frost but root
hardy to 20°F.
