- Family: Fabaceae-Papilionoideae (Pea Family)
- Geographic Range: East-central Mexico.
- Plant Form: Evergreen to semi-deciduous shrub 6' H x 8' W.
- Remarks: Erect shrub with green foliage and deep blue flowers blooming in winter- early spring. Requires low water, full sun, good drainage. Cold hardy to 10°F, but loses
foliage with hard freezes at 25° F. Sold commercially as "Monterrey Blue"™.
