• Common English Names: Blue Dalea
• Common Spanish Names: Ramón, Engordacabras
• Scientific Name: Dalea bicolor var. bicolor (DAY-lee-uh BUY-kul-ore)
• Family: Fabaceae-Papilionoideae (Pea Family)
• Geographic Range: East-central Mexico.
• Plant Form: Evergreen to semi-deciduous shrub 6' H x 8' W.
• Remarks: Erect shrub with green foliage and deep blue flowers blooming in winter- early spring. Requires low water, full sun, good drainage. Cold hardy to 10°F, but loses foliage with hard freezes at 25° F. Sold commercially as "Monterrey Blue"™.
