Archaeological exhibits include displays of various Southwestern Native American groups along with displays of other peoples for comparison. Several of the exhibits containing archaeological material recovered from Chihuahuan Desert sites are shown below.
Hunters-gatherers of the Southwest

Early groups in the Southwest relied primarily on hunting wild game and the gathering of native plants for food.

Settled Life display case

As agriculture became important, a more settled life evolved, although hunting and the gathering of wild plants still had a role.
