Mission Statement:

The Centennial Museum is an academic support and outreach unit of the University of Texas at El Paso focusing on the natural history and the indigenous, colonial, pre-urban, and folk cultures of the border regions of southwestern United States and Mexico. It promotes and shares knowledge and understanding of the natural and cultural diversity of the region and its peoples. The Museum meets its responsibilities through the presentation and curation of the permanent collections and by scholarly research. It also presents programs that promote the more general mission of the University of Texas at El Paso.

Normal Operating Hours

The Centennial Museum at The University of Texas at El Paso exhibit galleries are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, and the museum office is open Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Special Closures

The Museum is closed on University holidays. In addition, the Centennial Museum will be closed on home-game football Saturdays (dates to be announced).

Location

The Centennial Museum building is located at the corner of University and Wiggins on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso; the elevator entrance is located off of University Avenue. The University is accessed from I-10 at the UT El Paso/Shuster exit. The Museum also can be accessed via University Avenue from Mesa Street. The Museum does not charge an entry fee.
